On the agenda is North Korea’s nuclear program; bilateral economic cooperation; and the proposed natural gas pipeline project to transport Russian natural gas from Siberia to South Korea via Vladivostok and North Korea. President Lee Myung-Bak is this week due to sign off on the appointment of Kim Joong Kyum as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Korea Electrical Power Corporation (KEPCO). The appointment comes amidst substantial criticism of the country’s electricity power suppliers following the widespread power disruptions on 15 September 2011. Read more
